In the Folds Peplum Top
I love a peplum top. The odd thing is my wardrobe doesn't really reflect that. So I've finally come through and rectified the situation with a great free pattern from In The Folds and Peppermint Magazine, and fabric from my trip to Paris in 2016. (It seems like so long ago. Take me back!)
I cut the fabric and the pattern out over a month ago, but it's taken me a while to get to the sewing machine. But that's okay, I'm here now, and I'm pretty happy with the results.
One spot for improvement next time though (as always, my sewing journey is pretty much me making mistakes and trying to remember to fix them next time) is the v-shaped back. For some reason, and I've yet to figure out why, the v is a little off centre. This is a little strange because there were no issues with the sewing, but the fabric is a loose weave so maybe something got a little stretched in the wrong place when I was finishing the neck binding. I'll have to pay more attention next time.
But also I can't see the back when I'm wearing it anyway, so I'm not going to worry too much... It's nice to have my sewing mojo back.
